Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is your teaching style?

Direct and kind

2. Does book coaching and ghostwriting guarantee my book gets published?

There are several steps to publication, and I will educate you on them all. I will also remind you that you have the power to get your project to the finish line, one step at a time.

3. What is your AI Policy?

I do not use AI for creative writing, and I encourage my clients to learn the craft of writing. Your heart and your brain are valuable. Don't outsource them. The practice of writing is an experience worth having.

4. Do you offer anything more affordable and less intensive?

Yes. My newsletter is free and always will be. I have published a book of poetry, and it's under $15. If you want a less intensive experience of what I offer in my larger programs, we can work on a small book together (60 pages or less). These are fun! I charge $3,000 for 3 months together, and we can make great progress on a project that is important to you. I also love to teach kids about poetry at no cost. It's such an honor and a true pleasure. If you want me to come speak to kids, please reach out. Poetry is very healing for teenagers, especially, and I will show up with my whole heart.

5. Do you work with people in person?

I work with people all over the world, and we meet via Zoom. When I can meet my clients in person as distance allows, I love it!

If you are local to me, I usually propose a hybrid.

6. What happens after you help me write my book?

I have a wonderful list of referrals for you, and I cheer you on, always.

7.  Will you promote my book for me?

Yes and no. I have a tricky relationship with social media, and so I won't promote it there. I will promote your work through my personal newsletter and talk about your beautiful work out in the wild world.

8. How did you start helping people write books?

When I was in college, I had a fabulous professor (shout out to Barbara!) who asked me if I could help her write a book. I had no idea if I could, but I tried, and it turns out I had a knack for it. I love organizing large ideas into elegant chapters. It soothes my mind.

9. Do you teach any group classes?

I am working on that. Stay tuned.

10. What if I have another project in mind that doesn't exactly fit into your services? Can we chat about it?

Yes! Get in touch and tell me what you are up to!
